Hmmm, it just looks too Americanised for me. I'll still watch it and give it a chance, but the trailer seems to indicates that Torchwood has lost its own indenity and become just another American sci-fi show.

i'm looking forward to watching it, but it kinda doesn't seem like the same Torchwood any more...and it's getting really Americanised, especially with the whole 'Starz original series' thing....does that wind anyone else up? Like i said can't wait to watch it though just to see.

I am a massive Doctor Who and Torchwood fan and was really excited to hear there was a new series of TW but I have to agree with most here, after seeing the trailer it looks far too americanised which would be a real shame, I will have course watch it and give it a chance, hope it doesn't disappoint :0(

Oh for God's sake - wake up! This is Torchwood 'the movie' with a budget it deserves.  All power to Russell T and the crew for taking this to a new audience and a new dimension. Stop whingeing and watch it grow...

I think that this is exactly where Torchwood needs to take their next series, it looks fantastic. Yes it’s been Americanized but it’s been made to reach out to an American audience. True fans of Torchwood will enjoy this incarnation of the show because at the end of the day it has still been written by the man himself- Russell T!!!

I feel like although it has been Americanised it has kept hold of some of its British comedy, for example, Gwen holding the baby while she is shooting at the enemy- Funny!!!

My Granddad was Welsh- Rock on Gwen!!!

Apparently the BBC weren't willing to finance Torchwood:Miracle Day (nor was Fox), but Starz were. So yes, it is an 'Americanised' version, but without Starz it looks like we would never have gotten another series. So, let's not bash it for being "american filth" and instead look at what a big US budget can do for the series. It is still a British show (well, Welsh really!) it just has American finance and influences now. It still has Gwen and Captain Jack, but adds Mekhi Phifer and Bill Pullman! How quality is that?!

Also, it may air on the 8th in the US, but us Brits will have to wait till the 14th July to see it on the Beeb (yes, a whole 6 days. Oh no!). But, the UK version will also have longer episodes than the US, keeping in all the sex/swearing etc. So, bonus there then!

Really it is an 'Americanised' version, but without Starz it looks like we would never have gotten another series.
